Iftar di desa... resepi serawa durian

Assalamualaikum...salam Ramadhan buat semua...

Alhamdulillah... syukur... rindu giler beb nak makan serawa durian masakan mak... memang terbaekkkk in the world...

Bahan2

1 biji durian, keluarkan isinya
700 ml santan
500 ml air
1 ketul gula melaka, hiris halus*
1/2 cawan gula pasir*
1 helai daun pandan, disimpul*
2 cawan air*(*disatukan, masak dengan api kecil hingga gula larut, tapis dan ketepikan)
1 helai daun pandan, disimpul
1 camca besar tepung gandum*
3 camca besar air*(*dikacau rata2)
Secubit garam

Cara2

Dalam periuk, satukan santan, gula merah, durian dan jerang atas api hingga mendidih, guna api perlahan. Masukkan secubit garam untuk bagi rasa lemak. Biar mendidih perlahan, rasa dan jika kurang manis tambah sedikit lagi gula. Tuang bancuhan tepung gandum dan masak 2 - 3 minit lagi hingga kuah pekat. Matikan api.

Serawa durian resepi agak2 ibu FnF

Isi durian secukupnye
1 sudu bumbun gula merah
3 sudu bumbun gula pasir
secubit garam
1 mangkuk santan segar
Sedikit tepung untuk likatkan kuah (bancuh dengan sedikit air)

Cara2

Satukan semua bahan dalam periuk. Kacau rata agar sebati. Masak atas api sederhana hingga kuah serawa menjadi pekat. Kuah serawa perlu sentiasa dikacau semasa dimasak.

Juadah iftar kami... penuh meja...makan kena gilir2... sebab tak muat meja bila semua pulang ke desa... T.a.M.a.T...

Delicacies before Ramadhan

Alhamdullah. It has been 3 years since FnF fast in Malaysia. It feels great with the majority of Malaysian committed to fasting. FnF misses fasting with family members and also the 'Ramadhan market'. Hehehe. Happy fasting.

Ok. This post isn't about fasting but what we ate before Ramadhan. Hehehe. Mr FnF likes to try new halal food. Last time he had our friends in Chiba buy and cook whale meat. Have I mention it before? Maybe in another post. This time its horse meat. Where? Hehehe read on.

Last Sunday we went back to MrFnF home town in Malacca. His father treated us to lunch at the Serama Herbal BBQ Restaurant situated near the Air Keroh Tol Plaza. Here we were fortunate enough to see some unusual menus.

The menus include basil chicken (ayam selasih), Turkey, Ostrich, Horse and others. Here you can see some of the food serve here. Quite expensive if I may add. But here is the only place I know were you can find horse meat.

We have ordered a lot of food. Interesting food. This I will tell later. While waiting for the food to be served, Mr FnF and the kids (including his niece) went for a walk near the restaurant. In one corner, there were some monument which were made to depict the animals which is used in their food made by metal. It  looks real.

Beside the restaurant, situated a long canopy which housed numerous species of poultry.  There are price tags hanging near the cage. I quests its for sale. Some of the poultry cost more then RM500/=.

The kids enjoyed seeing all the poultry. To tell the truth so did I. Some unusual poultry is housed here.

A few minutes in the Serama Park, the food is served. One of the dishes that was ordered is Horse Meat Rendang. The taste to me is similar to cow meat.

Smoked duck dish (I'm not sure what it is called in English but in Malay it is called 'kerabu salai itik'). If your were ever to visit here, you have to get this dish. Its delicious.

We also ordered Tom-yam Serama Chicken and some greens. The tom-yam is very spicy.

And finally, the buttered prawn.

For some after meals desert, we ordered Durian Popia. Mouth watering.

According to the staff (I think it was the owner), the restaurant open daily from Monday to Friday from 6pm- 9pm 11pm. Saturday and Sunday, the restaurant opens twice daily. Once for lunch from 12pm to 3pm and the second is from 6pm to 9pm 11pm.

If you happen to visit Melacca, try to visit this restaurant. How many star's? For me, I'll give it 3.5/5.0. I've been here only once and only for lunch. So, take my word with a grain of salt.
